Here´s my report from the Golden Kami tournament 19th of September.
I brough Silvermoon with the intention of gaining action advantage through Alpha Striking T2. Wasapu finds the target and spot with a clear shot at least within Medium range. The Fire Kami gives him burning bolts T2 and Inside Information ensures that the target does not move before the magazine is empty or it´s dead. Simple. Apart from that as much offensive power as possible for the least cost.
Dafukaia, Golden Sentinel, Wakasu Gorilla, Honoko, Wasapu, Kyoaku-Han x2, Kami of Burning Rage, Inside information x2, Bought Loyalty x1
Game 1 vs Savage Wave - The Messenger
This is a list similar to the GM winning one. Zuba, Yusha, the Demon Dog, Tra Peng and some random Bake fillers. They want to do the same thing as me, but by massively debuffing the target and send in the dog to tear it apart. Oh my.
As it was Silvermoon ended up with the initiative. Wasapu skulked around in the middle, watching the Onis lumbering closer. The rest of the Silvermoon gang spread out in a line, minus the fire bird aka the messenger. Yusha barely had a chance and fell dead to Wasapus salvoe. At this point I have the game firmly in my hand as all I need to do is fly into the opponents deployment zone and claim the VP. Instead of doing that I get a brainfart and move something irrelevant which allows the demon dog to eat the little Kami. A very odd Bushido moment indeed and a swing from say 2-0 to 0-1. Doh.
Game 2 vs Ito - Botoku
Another kill'em quick list of Kenzo, Yuii, Kaihime, The Jade Witch, Satsuki and Saburo (I think).
Ito also wants to kill stuff quickly. Thus I send up my juiciest target (lookswise at least), the Gorilla. Kaihime predictably sends a poisoned arrow at the beast and Satsuke accelerates it killing the animal turn 2. The loss is acceptable as in the meanwhile Wasapu sends a cascade of burning bolts at Kenzo who dies in fiery agony in the same turn, followed by Kaihime being shot and skewered by Kyoaku-Hans. Yuii is flattened by Dafukaia and the Sentinel breach through the line. Without their armoured escort the Ito priestesses fold like paper.
Game 3 vs Ruy - Ninki
A squad of Ashigaru, led by Isamu and his Daisuke doc. All escorted by Genji Takashi. This 9 man list is good, versatile and lethal through shooting and melee both. Just what Ruy excels at.
The plan is to take out Isamu first because of Inspiration. I cannot have my tactical moves foiled by the sarge cheering up his footmen to Dafukaia level of dice. Unfortunately does Wasapu fail to kill Isamu until the last bolt at which point I´ve had to sacrifice the bird to soak the arquebusiers bullits, so I am still down in numbers. It´s bad to get into a grindfest with well armoured Prefecture by my street fighters and slowly we whittle each other down until Ruy can grab a miser VP through influencing some objects turn 5 and 6.
Game 4 vs Temple - Idols
Monks of earth and steel makes up this warband. Po, Kenko.02, Suchiro, Shisai, Hotaru and a Earth Kami.
I reason I need to take out Suchiro first as he can come back and is the toughest monk there. I'll try and contain the rest and evade Po until the line stabilizes. It all ends up with the fortunes favouring Silvermoon as the first salvoe fells Suchiro before he can activate a Ki-feat and then Po takes five wounds and four fire tokens from the next double tap. It goes even more downhill when Kenko manages to roll blank in defense and die to a Kyoaku-Han! Turn 3 we end this silly match.
In the end we are three players at 24 points, but Ruy wins through tiebreakers. Going up six am to play Bushido until 7pm was mentally taxing, but as fun as always!
