I've played Master Po a lot and my thought about him is that it is a beautiful model, but his rules have to be changed a little to fill the gap between 12 rice cost and what effectively he brings to the table. I think that Master Po should cost 10 rice, because:
- he haven't Iron Mind (1) like many other masters or monks
- he haven't Ranged Defence (1) like the other masters or monks
- his Ki Feats cost too much ki for doing something that other monks do with less, and in some case, better
So, i've some ideas to change a little the rules of Master Po with the hope to see hm on the tables. The concept of this martial art master is to build up a model that is a powerhouse of close combat and a solid like rock fighter right? well, just start to add to his traits Iron Mind (1) because the mental discipline is foundamental to became a master of martial arts. I would also add Martial Prowess (1) to make Po more scary in close combat. The other traits he have should be remain the same. I think that we have to lower the cost of his Ki Feats to 3ki each or should be changed a little. Here some ideas:
Hammer Strike: 3ki - Brutal (1) and Powerful Attack (0)
Butterfly Stance: 3ki - Parry (1) and Sweep Defence (0)
Wasp Punch: XXki - remain the same but cost less ki
A model like this can be very scary in close combat: he is resistant, he can hit hard and can protect himself very well and have some traits that help him to do his job very well... and actually is worth 12 rice.
The meaning of these thoughts is to give some ideas to the Bushido team to make really playable a model that, sadly, sees the gaming table very rarely.
