The Burning Brush: A Painting Contest

(Mods: Apologies if this is in the wrong place)

Pyre Studios is pleased to announce the first annual Burning Brush painting contest.

This is an open contest with a combined £250 in prizes. It really only has two main requirements. Firstly the miniatures used must come from the game lines currently carried by Pyre Studios, including Bushido. Secondly is that “fire” must play some part in/with/on/near the composition. This can be anything from a cigar to a flamethrower or a logo to a flamejob.

Full details can be found here

I'm looking forward to seeing some Bushido minis.

Awesome, no problem with this here, good idea. Shame Hotaru will arrive a little too late.

Greeny, seems like an ideal painting competition for your Gengo?

Does the lantern on Gok, the corpse collector count?

Thanks for letting this stay!

Yes, anything fire related is a viable entry. This includes lanterns, base elements and the actual paint job itself. Flame patterns on kimono, hakama/kamishimo, tattoos, weapons or even the legendary Kitsune-bi ... the fox fire

Only 7 days left to enter and 3 Bushido entrants so far. Do you think this is enough? Surley you're not going to let them be the only chaps representing Bushido? Post some pics, I dare you

As the cliché goes... you've got to be in it to win it!

Flames involved in your models, Hiro's sword perhaps? Then get entering :-)

Two days to go! We've got some great Bushido entries but the real question to ask yourselves is can you ever have too much Bushido?

I have some questions for Pyre studios

At the moment your forum is only used for entering the competition. Are you going to use it for discussions later?

You have an interesting selection of games. I’m surprised you have Warlands, but no Rezolution. How do you pick the Game lines which you support? And are you planning to add more games to the list?

How can someone get involved in one of your development projects? I’m particularly interested in Project Giant.

Thanks Andrey.

Hi Andrey,

I've fired you an email as this is another company's forum. In short though yup our forum is expanding and in terms of criteria Bushido is the perfect example;

  • Great miniatures and/or cracking rules set. This really is the primary driver for me as I have to like the game to stock & demo it.
  • Players must be able to buy the rule set and a playable faction for under £100
  • Players don't need to buy more than 12 miniatures to play the game

Bushido hits all three and then some!

Best

It's all done and dusted and Bushido miniatures claimed 3 of the 4 prizes. My thanks to the mods for allowing the topic to survive.

Winners details are HERE
